Run - Swim - Learn! In the Spirit of Pierre de Coubertin

WELCOME

Dear Sport Friends,

You are visiting a performance portal worked out within the Erasmus+ project Run – Swim – Learn! In the Spirit of Pierre de Coubertin. I am proud about this portal as it reflects the very best of the project consortium coming from three beautiful countries – Slovenia, Finland, and Slovakia. I am glad that we succeeded in our efforts, and you can read these lines because it was for all the project partners a challenging work, especially in the Covid-19 pandemic times.

First and foremost, on behalf of all the project partners I would like to acknowledge the support of the European Commission and EACEA. We were delighted for getting a chance to develop this wonderful project. We found Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union as a prestigious, interactive, and attractive educational opportunity, which enriched our lives.

We are happy to introduce to you the project highlight with an international dimension, which is this performance portal entitled Run – Swim – Learn! In the Spirit of Pierre de Coubertin. The portal is and will be freely accessible for anyone interested to participate in this unique programme even after the project lifetime. It was designed in a way that any school or sport club willing to develop a topic on education inand through sport could find in this portal an inspiration for their activities.

However, the portal is not the only project outcome of our joint project activities, and you can find much more about our efforts in the project handbook as well. Its aim was to summarise the good practice examples from project countries about the recent EU policies in a field of sport. Proposed good practice examples were therefore logically intertwined with relevant EU documents, in order to make them more comprehensible and easily accessible for general public. Our handbook entitled Run – Swim – Learn! In the Spirit of Pierre de Coubertin is part of this performance portal and you can download it for your inspiration. We deeply believe that it will be a useful tool for your work and might serve for further activities in the field of education in and through sport.

In conclusion, let me express, that it was my great pleasure to accompany you with some aspects of this project and I deeply hope that it will become an interesting instrument for widening your sport knowledge. I believe that our work on a topic of education in and through sport will be in favour of all involved countries as well as other Member States of the European Union and also contribute to developing multiculturalism and international understanding beyond the European Union.
